Current Accreditation Standard

CAAS Standards Version 4.0 is the required standard for all submissions.

  • All applications submitted on or after January 1, 2026 are reviewed under Version 4.0.
  • Version 3.0 has been retired and is no longer accepted for accreditation submissions.
  • Version 3.0 materials are maintained in archive for historical reference only.
  • Agencies may not combine or blend standards from different versions within a single submission.

Ongoing Standards Review and Improvement

CAAS Standards are maintained through a consensus-based review process to ensure they remain relevant, rigorous, and reflective of current EMS practice. CAAS reviews accredited agencies on a three-year accreditation cycle and periodically evaluates standards for clarity, applicability, and emerging industry needs.
